The country's star badminton player Saina Nehwal is ready to play an innings in politics after making a splash in the game. She joined BJP today. On this occasion, she said that the reason for joining BJP is PM Modi, from which he gets inspiration. Along with Saina, her elder sister also joined BJP.

After joining BJP, Saina said that she is happy to join a party (BJP) which is doing good for the country. She further said that she gets inspiration from Modi. Saina said, 'Modi has given a lot of boost to the game. It is good to work to start Khelo India.
Nehwal joined the BJP in New Delhi. BJP national general secretary Arun Singh made him join BJP. Saina's sister Chandranshu Nehwal was also present on the occasion. He too joined the BJP. Even before Saina, many players have joined BJP. They include big faces like former cricketers Gautam Gambhir, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and Babita Phogat.
Talking about badminton career, Saina has won 22 Super Series and Grand Prix titles. Also, she won the Bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics and became the country's first female shuttler to do so. Apart from this, Saina has also been a world number one. She became world number one on 23 May 2015 in the women's singles rankings. She is the first Indian woman badminton player to reach this stage
