On August 15, 1947 the country was liberated.India got freedom from British rule. Since then, there is the rule of the Indian Government on every corner of the country. But do you know that there is only one place in India where the rule of the British Government is still going on. Before doing anything here, India has to get permission from the British Government.

Now you must be thinking that we are talking about the British Embassy, where the permission of the British Government has to be obtained for doing anything due to international law. No, we are talking about the place which is not even in the jurisdiction of the Indian government. All the control of this place in the hands of British Government.

This place is located in Kohima, Nagaland, which is known by the whole world as Kohima War Cemetery i.e. Kohima War Memorial. Here is the grave of 2700 British soldiers who were martyred in World War II. Here, on the banks of Chindavya river, the Japanese army, along with the Azad Hind Fauj, attacked the British government, which is known in history as the Kohima war.

The British government built a memorial in this place in memory of its soldiers. Because at that time most of the states of the world had the British rule, so many such monuments were built in countries other than India, such as Australia and Canada.
The responsibility of the Commonwealth War Grave Commission is to supervise all the monuments (graves) present here. Therefore, in such places, Indians have to seek permission from the British government to take photographs. Thus nobody takes photographs without permission of British Government.

According to reports, last year the proposal to widen the road near this monument was given by India, but the British government rejected it.
