Do Reactors Pollute The Environment? Have a look
Producing atomic energy, like many other industrial processes, contributes to pollution of the environment.
Radioactive gases and solid wastes from reactors must be disposed of without contaminating the atmosphere, the rivers, and the soil with deadly radioactive particles.
Reactors are cooled by water from rivers. The hot water discharged into rivers may kill fish and plants. And so, controlling atomic-reactor pollution becomes an important challenge of the Atomic Age.
