Australia's Ellyse Perry out of Women's T20 World Cup


Ellyse Perry was injured in the final group match played against New Zealand on Monday while running out the batsman of the opposition team and then left the field at the same time.

Australia defeated New Zealand by four runs in the semi-finals in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup match played at Junction Oval ground here on Monday.

Australian team doctor Pip Inge said, "Ellis sustained a high-grade hamstring injury, which is likely to keep him out of the match. We are considering all options at the moment and we continue to help Ellis recover from the injury.

Australia has suffered a major setback due to the exit of Ellyse Perry and will now have to play a semi-final match and beyond (if Australia wins) without Perry.
Ellyse Perry, 29, has played all 36 T20 World Cup matches for Australia so far. In the current World Cup, no player's name has been announced in place of Perry.
