Corona Virus has left the sports and entertainment industry trembling, all around the globe. WWE is certainly not an exception specifically at a time when the grandest event of them all is on the horizon. Within one month from now, the company will be hosting the 36th edition of WrestleMania in Tampa, Florida.
Recently, the Corona Virus outbreak was noted in the region leaving the company officials to strategize how to counter this deadly attack. A ton of people will be arriving in Tampa all over the world whose safety should be the priority of the company as well as the host city officials.
ESPN contacted the WWE with addressing the Corona Virus outbreak and they were able to get a statement from them. As per the statement, the company is fully monitoring the situation and is are working closely with its partners in the area to set up the precautionary measures. It looks like they will go all out to make the event a major success despite the threat caused by the Corona Virus.
Here’s the statement provided by WWE on the issue,
“The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay.”
“We remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events.”
The positive news is that the Road to WrestleMania is going safely and smoothly. No such changes in the schedule were noted, till now. WWE was able to successfully conduct the Saudi Arabia tour, as well. But they have to protect the huge roster that travels all the time within cities or countries, all the time. In order to make the talents aware more on Corona Virus, a meeting was reportedly held, this week.
PWInsider.com reported that WWE held this meeting with their Superstars before RAW took place in Brooklyn, New York on March 2nd. It was a specific gathering to raise awareness about the Corona Virus and share the latest information about how Superstars can protect themselves.
Before WrestleMania, a number of Axxess events are scheduled where superstars make a lot of personal contact with fans who are willing to pay for meet-and-greet sessions. This time around, the stars have to be extra careful to stay away from potential infection by Corona Virus.
