Alexander went out to conquer the whole world and arrived in India. Here he encountered the Indian king Porus. King Porus was a very brave and powerful king, he defeated Alexander in battle.
During this time, Alexander's wife came to know about the Indian festival Raksha Bandhan.
She then sent a Rakhi to King Porus to save her husband Alexander. Porus was surprised, but when he raised his hand to attack Alexander during the battle, he was stunned and later taken captive, respecting the threads of Rakhi.
On the other hand, seeing Rakhi in captive Porus's wrist, Alexander too showed his big heart and returned Porus to his kingdom.
In this way the festival of Raksha Bandhan binds the relations of a brother for his sister.
