Celebrity roasting is a popular phenomenon in Hollywood where actors have a heart to listen to and laugh over jokes on themselves. Bollywood too had shows where actors were roasted on social media platforms, but unlike Hollywood, our hot headed actors did display their incapacity of taking a joke and literally walked out of shows.
The show under question is Krushna Abhishek’s show Comedy Nights Bachao. So, here are a few instances where actors preferred walking out of this show rather than being further roasted:
John Abraham
As part of the promotional campaign for his upcoming release Force 2, John along with co-star Sonakshi Sinha made an appearance on Krushna's show. However, Krushna's incessant remarks about John's past movies, especially Paap, didn't go down well with the actor.
Here's what Krushna has to say about in the incident:
I was cracking jokes on his earlier films like 'Paap'. That's when he told me that those were his favourite films.
It didn't stop just there. As Krushna further elaborates, first, John refused to shake a leg on stage and later, walked out without uttering a word.
He soon walked out and I ran after him, but he left. I want to apologise to him; I haven't slept since the last few days because of this. I specially flew down from my shoot in Kulu Manali because John had agreed to be on the show. I hope he understands and forgives me.
Tannishtha Chatterjee
Bollywood actress Tannishtha Chatterjee who has been appreciated for her role in Parched, was called on Comedy Nights Bachao, along with Radhika Apte and Surveen Chawla. While everyone else had a good time, few things didn't go down well with Tannishtha as she was being constantly poked about her skin tone.
They compared her with "kaala jamun" and constantly joked about her dark skin. Tannishtha wrote a long post on Facebook about how regressive the show is and Colors apologized to her on social media.
Shahrukh Khan
According to the reports, Bharti Singh and her co-host Abhishek Krushna went too far with their insulting jokes on Shah Rukh Khan. SRK, who can laugh on himself, couldn't take such offensive jokes made on him on the show this time.
Reportedly, SRK asked the producers of the show to remove the more offensive jokes made on him and with no choice the makers of the show had to remove it.
Kavita Kaushik
She was a contestant at the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Finale shoot and the Comedy Nights Bachao team joined in the show as well to add tadka. When they began roasting Kavita Kaushik, she wanted to reply too but her mic's power was cut.
This was humiliating for her and she walked off the stage fuming in anger. Speaking to Tele-Chakkar, Kavita said, "I had signed "Jhalak" and not "Bachao", and without my permission or a brief, some random people threw a volley of insults on me and when I tried to retaliate, they cut off my mic"
Lisa Haydon
During the promotions of Housefull 3, the cast went on Comedy Nights Bachao but weren't impressed with the format of the show.
The humour directed towards Lisa Haydon turned derogatory with comedian Siddharth Jadhav calling Lisa a 'black African.'
He also apparently compared Lisa with a kangaroo since she's from Australia. Akki reportedly lost his cool at this point and tried pushing the comedian aside.
Anushka Manchanda
She came on the show to promote her well acclaimed movie, "Angry Indian Goddesses" and was called a giraffe. Yes, she is famous for her fabulous height but that didn't stop the CNB team from roasting her.
