The meat produced by this breeding raising on cattle on a small farm, it will be more tasty and flavorful than the meat produced from the commercial farm.
White Holland and Standard Bronze are two popular meat-producing turkey varieties. These two species are not genuine breeding. Broad breasted bronze and whites are only standard commercial strains used for meat production (they are not genuine dosages). There are some other species that are beautiful and different looking birds with this. Bourbon Red, Narragansett, Royal Palm, etc. To produce commercial meat, you have to go with Broad-breasted White, Standard Bronze and White, White Holidays etc.
Housing and fencing:-
Good housing is essential with all the necessary facilities for commercial turkey production. In this regard you need to build a permanent home like chicken house and ensure all necessary facilities. For the fence, make the fence as much as possible. Turkey becomes big and very powerful in size. Thus, the fence must be strong enough to protect the birds. You can use electric poultry nets, knitted wire fences, metal tee posts or wooden posts. However, when creating accommodation and fencing for Turkey, keep in mind the followings.
You must properly guard against all types of predators and harmful animals.
Ensure adequate space availability inside the house. Generally, 75 feet * 75 feet of space is suitable for up to 12 birds.
Do not let turkeys graze until they reach the age of the cow.
Using wood litter is very effective for cultivating turkey.
Make sure there is enough flow of fresh air and light inside the house.
Make the right ventilation system.
Make enough room for regular cleaning.
In the case of a fence, make it as high as possible. The fence must be at least four feet above the ground.
Turkey is much stronger and bigger than other birds. So, make fences with strong materials.
Feeding and watering:-
Good and nutritious food keeps birds healthy and productive. So, it would be better to learn how to feed turkey birds and it will help you prevent problems and reduce feeding costs on turkey farms. Turkey needs more protein in their diet for a few weeks than other domestic birds. Protein should be at least 28 percent in poultry feed. You can go with a chicken starter that contains about 28 percent protein. Feed the turkey, chick starter for the first six weeks and after that time you will be able to eat their beef. Protein should have 20 percent feed. The amount of protein in turkey food is higher than that of chicken or other poultry birds. In addition to providing nutritious food, provide them with enough fresh and clean water. Typically, a dozen turkeys require 2 gallons of fresh water.
