The Family Man: An Amazing Spy-thriller That Everyone Should Watch

The Family Man is a fast-paced spy-thriller series on Amazon Prime Video, written and produced by Raj and DK. This dynamic-duo is also known for their witty and comic films like 99, A Gentleman, Go Goa Gone and Stree. Their biggest talent is to showcase the ground reality in their movies, with a pinch of sarcastic humor. Well, this time around, they have brought their A-game into digital media in the form of a ten-episode series.
Starring in the lead role is Manoj Bajpai, who is playing the role of a middle-class government spy, who's trying to balance his personal and professional life. Playing the role of his wife is Priyamani, who is ambitious towards her career, and frustrated with her husband's constant absence. There is Gul Panag, Dilip Tahil, Darshan Kumaar and Sharad Kelkar in supporting roles.

During an interview, Raj and DK mentioned that they want to tell the story of a spy in an unconventional manner. The character has been written in a way that it becomes instantly relatable with the audience. He gets up in the morning, does all the day-to-day activities of the household and goes to his job. There is no vanity in his character. He does not get any hero moments. The only difference is that unlike many government jobs, here he has to predict and prevent terrorist attacks. He is introduced as a senior analyst with moderate authority but at the same time, he has to follow orders of his superiors too.

Shrikant Tiwari is with many flaws, he drinks, he smokes, he gets stressed out. These characters flaws make watching his journey more interesting.
The story begins with the capture of three suspected terrorists, who were allegedly planning some major attack on India with the help of the neighboring country. The rest of the story unravels as Shrikant and his team investigate further.

The most interesting thing about this series is that the whole storyline is based on real newspaper stories. All the elements of the plot are from various incidents that happened in real life. As there is a splash of truth involved in these stories, makes them even more engaging to watch.
The narration jumps between Tiwari's domestic life and his professional life.
To conclude, this is the first outing of Manoj Bajpai, Raj, and DK in the digital platform, and the way they have developed these characters, I am sure it will gain great success and popularity among the audience.
