Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actress and model who works predominantly in Hindi films. She is a well-known face on the big screen and has come a long way in her career. She is known for her portrayal of Priya in the Bollywood movie ‘Murder 2’. Being a model, she was featured in the UK magazine in which she was listed as ‘World's Sexiest Asian Women’. She is the brand ambassador of HTC One. She has also appeared as a judge in the ninth season of the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’. Other than being an actress and model, she is also a Social Worker. She used to participate in several private initiatives which focuses on ensuring the quality of life of public.
Jacqueline was born on 11th August 1985 in Manama, Bahrain. Her father’s name is Elroy Fernandez and her mother’s name is Kim Fernandez. She also has one elder sister and two elder brothers. She has completed her schooling from Sacred Heart School, Bahrain. She did her graduation in Mass Communication from University of Sydney, Australia. She has started her career as a Television host at an age of 14. She has worked as a Television Reporter in Sri Lanka after completing her graduation. In 2006, she has won the ‘Miss Universe Sri Lanka’ title. While she was pursuing her modelling career, she was featured in many magazines including 'Vogue' and 'Exhibit'. Before coming into film industry, she has appeared in a music video for the song ‘O Sathi’.
In 2009, she made her acting debut with the Bollywood movie ‘Aladin’ alongside with Riteish Deshmukh and Amitabh Bachchan. For her debut movie, she has won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year. However, her career breakthrough came with the 2011 movie ‘Murder 2’ alongside with Emraan Hashmi. She was heavily praised by the audience for her bold and glamorous role in this movie. Over the years, she has acted in more than 20 Bollywood films in which she had supporting as well as major roles. Also, she did cameo appearances in several songs for different movies. In 2017, she has appeared in a Sri Lankan English film named ‘According to Mathew’. She did a cameo appearance in a song named ‘Bad Boy’ from the movie ‘Saaho’ in 2019. On the same year, she has acted in a Netflix Hindi film ‘Drive’ alongside with Sushant Singh Rajput. Her upcoming project ‘Attack’ alongside with John Abraham is currently under production.
