Every year, many films are produced whether it is Hollywood or Bollywood. Many movies create history like Marvels Avenger Endgame, Titanic, Avatar. These all are Hollywood movie. If we talked about Indian cinema then there are many movies who just created history and are too good. But at the same time, there are many movies in the history of Indian cinema that cause the producer to suffer a huge loss. 
Today in this article I am going to tell you about the 10 biggest flops of Indian cinema.The movie in this list is based on the percent loss they cause to the producer. These flop movies confirm that if you have a big star cast, great actor but not the story then your stardom can't make the movie hit.

1) Thugs of Hindostan
It was an action film released in 2018. It was produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner. Film cast Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Katrina Kaif and the legend Amitabh Bachchan. Movie budget was kept 240 crores. It got a good opening on the name of its star cast but on the following days of its release, its earning got decreased.
 At last this movie managed to earn 134 cr only. It causes a loss of 106 cr to the producer which was nearly 56%. This movie can be called as the biggest flop of 2018. It was unexpected as no one expected that this movie would be a flop, but it was.

2) Blue
 It was an action movie released in 2009. It received a mixed response after its release. It was produced by Dhilin Mehta. Movie cast Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta, Zayed Khan, Rahul Dev in lead roles. It also cast Katrina Kaif in a supporting role. Movie running time was 198 minutes and its music was given by A.R.Rahman.
Movie budget was 95 crore. Its box office collection was 35-40 cr which make it a loss of 55 cr to the producer which is nearly 58% of its budget.

3) Puli
It is a Tamil film released in 2015. This movie cast Vijay, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani, Sridevi and Sudeep in the lead role. Sudeep has played the role of the main villain in the film. The movie was produced by Shibu Thameens and P T Selvakumar. It was also dubbed into Telugu and Hindi language. Movie run time was kept 154 minutes. 
Movie budget was kept 110 crores. It earned a total of 45 crores. It causes a loss of 65 cr to the producer which is a total of 59%of the budget of the film.

4) Spyder 
It is an action spy thriller film released in 2017. It was directed by A.R. Murugadoss. Film cast Mahesh Babu, S.J Surya and Rakul Preet Singh in lead roles. It was produced by N.V. Kumar. Movie run time was kept 140 minutes. Its Tamilnadu rights were acquired by Lyca Productions. India today described this movie as a failure.
 Movie budget was kept 124 cr. Its earning was 49.4 cr. It causes a loss of 75 cr to the producer which is nearly 60 % of its budget.

5) Zero 
Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero movie was released in 2018. It was a romantic drama film. It was directed by Anand L Rai. It was produced by Gauri Khan. Music of this movie was great. Movie run time was kept 164 minutes. It was distributed by Yash Raj films. The movie was released on Christmas to make it a big hit. But it does not happen. 
Movie budget was kept 200 cr. It earned 122 cr which make a loss of 61%to the producer.

6) Kochadaiiyaan 
Movie cast superstar Rajni Kant and Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone in the lead role. It was a motion-captured animated film of 2014. It was India's first film based on motion capturing and animations. It was produced by Sunil Lulla and Sunanda Murali Manohar. Movie run time was kept 124 minutes. 
Movie budget was kept 125 cr and its earning was 35 cr. This cause a loss of 90 cr which is 72 % of the film budget.

7) Love Story 2050
It was science fiction based film casting Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja in the lead role. It was Bollywood first film based on time travel. Initially, this movie was to be released in 2007 but due to post-production work, it got delayed and then it was released in 2008. It was produced by Pammi Baweja. Movie runtime was kept 180 minutes. 
Movie budget was 40 cr and its collection was 10 cr. This cause a loss of 30 cr to the producer which is 75 %of its budget.

8) Drona 
It is a Bollywood superhero film released in 2008. It cast Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Kay Kay Menon, Jaya Bachchan in lead roles. It was produced by Goldie Behl. Movie runtime was kept 138 minutes. It was distributed by Eros entertainment. It was proved to be a big disaster in Abhishek Bachchan film career.
Movie budget was kept 45 cr and its earning was only 10 cr which cause a loss of 35 cr a total loss of 79 % of the budget.

9) Bombay Velvet 
It is a crime thriller film released in 2015. The movie was co-produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap. This movie failed miserably. Movie runtime was kept 149 minutes. It was distributed by Fox Star Studios. Movie budget was so high that can be a reason for the loss. 
Movie budget was very high nearly 120 cr but its earning was just 20 cr. It makes a loss of 100 cr to the producer which is nearly 83% of the budget.

10) Tajmahal 
 It is a 1999 released Tamil film. It was directed by Bharathiraja. movie cast Manoj, Riya Sen, Revathi, Radhika, Ranjitha, Manivannan in lead roles. Its music was given by A.R. Rahman.
Movie budget was so high according to that time. It was 50 cr and its earning was just 1 cr which cause a loss of 98% to the producer.   
All person related to a movie works to make it a great hit. But it will be a hit or a failure all depends on the audience. There are many other factors which affect the movie. So we should not judge the movie by its earning.
