Rajinikanth has been a part of various films over the years. Apart from impressing everyone with his acting, he has also worked as a producer and screenwriter. Rajinikanth made his acting debut in the 1975 Tamil language, with Apurva Ravangal playing the role of Kamal Haasan in the lead roles. Gradually, he rose to prominence and emerged as one of the most sought-after actors in the industry. We have compiled some of Rajinikanth's best films which are remakes.
1. Billa
Starring by R Krishnamurthy, Billa is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 action thriller film, Dawn. Rajinikanth played the double roles of Billa and Rajappa. Billa also portrayed Sripriya and K Balaji. Formerly played Zeenat Aman and Helen reprized her original role. Rajinikanth made his comeback with this film. Billa was a major commercial success and was a turning point in the lead actor's career.
2. Thillu Mullu
Released in 1981, Thilu Milu starred Rajinikanth, Thengai Srinivasan, Nagesh, Sowekar Janaki, Madhavi, Puran Vishwanathan, and Viji Chandrasekhar in lead roles. Directed by K Balachander, the comedy film is a remake of the 1979 film Golmaal featuring Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt. Rajinikanth had to shave his mustache for this film. According to the news, Thillu Milu is the first film in which he appears without a mustache.
3. Mr. Bharath
Mr. Bharath is a remake of Trishul starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar and Shahi Kapoor. Played by SP Muthuraman, this Tamil drama follows a young man who takes revenge on his father who betrayed his mother. According to reports, Satyaraj, who played Rajinikanth's on-screen father, was four years younger than him.
4. Mannan
Directed by P Vasu, Mannan stars Rajinikanth, Vijayashanti, Manorama, Kushboo, Vishu and Goundamani in lead roles. This drama film is a remake of the 1986 Kannada film Anurag Aralithu. Mannan revolves around the union leader of a factory, who is forced to marry his boss. He is trapped in a loveless marriage to a rich and arrogant woman, while he falls in love with Meena. Mannan was quite successful at the box office.
5. Viduthalai
Starring by K. Vijayan, Viduthalai is a remake of Firoz Khan's hit action film Qurbani. Rajinikanth played the role of Firoz Khan, while Kannada star Vishnuvardhan played the role of Vinod Khanna. Viduthalai received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike.
