5. Dawn of the dead - 1978

While most of its execution time is confined to a huge shopping mall , the first third of the film effectively hits the widespread nature of the zombie outbreak, with scenes such as the raid of the apartment by a zealous SWAT team visually establishing the range of the outbreak.
Also, while humanity seems to be winning or returning to normal in a good portion of zombie movies, the movie ends in a place of great ambiguity.
4. Melancholy (Melancholia) - 2011

The movie tells two different stories. In the first part, a bride's vision is followed as she struggles to bring the situation through the parties and celebration as her high power of depression grows stronger. The second part focuses on your older sister's exploits.
There is also the fact that a blue planet called Melancholia is rapidly approaching Earth's orbit. Despite the use of a von Trier apocalyptic event as a metaphor for the nature of depression, he perplexed those who watched.

Curtis LaForche is a man plagued by apocalyptic visions. Convinced that his premonitions will soon come to pass, he begins to build a shelter for his wife and son. His increasingly erratic behavior leads him to a psychiatrist, where he understands that he has a family history of mental illness.
Then lies the central issue of "The Shelter." Was Curtis a modern-day prophet or a mentally disturbed individual to lose himself in his delusions?

1. Dr. Fantastic 1964

These two films make up the leading position in this selection of the top 10 end of the world movies of all time. Both depict a nuclear conflict between the US and the USSR. Dr. Fantastic (original title Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb), with its demented black humor, ahead of its time, will always be first in the hearts of most people.
While attempting to adapt Peter George's Red Alert novel to the big screen, director Stanley Kubrick found that there was a need to cut certain real-life details about nuclear bomb emergency procedures because they were simply nonsense to work on a serious drama.
Intimidated by the amount of talent involved in preparing the war movie "Security Limit," Kubrick filed a lawsuit alleging that the plot had been plagiarized from George's Red Alert, that Kubrick had the rights.
The action was eventually resolved, but it had the desired effect. Kubrick's movie came out eight months before "Security Limit." It's a shame because "Security Limit" is almost as dramatically effective as Dr.Fantastic is hilarious to laugh at.
