The bodies of bats were sent to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) in Bareilly to investigate the cause of death. The post mortem report has revealed that all bats died of brain haemorrhage due to extreme heat.
IVRI director Dr RK Singh said on Thursday that the death of the bats had nothing to do with the corona and that he died of brain hemorrhage due to extreme heat. Bat rabies and corona were also investigated at IVRI, both reports have come out negative. He said that the temperature had crossed 45 degrees in the past and the heat intensity and lack of water is proving fatal for animals and birds. Due to high temperature, the problem of dehydration in animals and birds. If water is not available in time, it can also be fatal.
Singh said that the incident of death of more than 300 bats came to light last month in a garden in Belaghat of Khajani range of Gorakhpur. Apart from this, bats were also killed in Ballia in eastern Uttar Pradesh. It is not easy for bats to tolerate temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. It is known that a large number of bats had died in Gorakhpur and Ballia in the past. People were watching this by connecting it to Corona. Due to this, fear had spread in the area.
