Vijay Mallya, the fugitive liquor businessman and founder of the shuttered Kingfisher Airlines, may be extradited to India at any time within the next few days. Senior government sources said on Wednesday that all formalities related to Mallya's extradition had been completed.
Fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya can reach India anytime. A case is filed against him in Mumbai, so he will be brought to Mumbai. Some sources in the investigating agencies indicated that Mallya's plane could land at Mumbai airport on Monday night. If he reaches Mumbai at night, he will be kept in the CBI office for some time. Later he will be produced before the court.
CBI and ED will seek remand
As soon as Mallya arrives in Mumbai, the medical team will examine his health. Sources said that some officials of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (Enforcement Directorate i,e ED) will accompany Mallya on the plane. If Mallya arrives in India during the day, he will be taken directly from the airport to court. Sources said that both CBI and ED agencies will seek his remand in the court.

Complete preparation in Arthur Road Jail
Keep in mind that the UK court in August 2018, while hearing Mallya's plea, had asked the Indian investigative agencies for the details of the prison where Mallya would be kept after extradition. The agencies then submitted a video of a cell in Mumbai-based Arthur Road Jail to the UK court where Mallya plans to be kept on being brought to India.

The agencies then assured the UK court that Mallya would be kept in a highly secure barrack inside the two-story Arthur Road Jail. Vijay Mallya, the owner of the closed Kingfisher Airlines, owes Rs 9 thousand crore to 17 banks in the country. He left India and fled to Britain on 2 March 2016. Indian agencies appealed to the UK court for Mallya's extradition, and after a long fight the UK court on 14 May sealed Mallya's extradition appeal to India.
