Corona may increase in Mumbai due to monsoon, IIT Mumbai report


New Delhi: A report by IIT Mumbai has predicted the corona infection to increase further with the monsoon. This report claimed that due to the increase in humidity, the corona virus in the atmosphere can remain alive for longer. This study has been prepared by Rajneesh Bhardwaj and Amit Aggarwal, two professors of IIT Mumbai. They believe that due to the high temperature and low humidity it takes less time for the cough or sneeze droplets to dry, but during the monsoon there will be moisture and it will take longer for the people to dry up. Scientists say that cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Goa are in Danger Zone.
This kind of study
IIT Mumbai professors Rajneesh Bhardwaj and Amit Aggarwal have done a study on corona virus infection. This study was started in the month of March. For this he used a computer model. For this, they made the basis of temperature, humidity and surface. Both professors dried the droplets emanating from the corona virus patient's sneeze. Then compared it to the speed of drying and the daily infections in 6 cities of the world.
Rajneesh Bhardwaj said that in this study we saw that infection can be passed from one person to another by coughing or sneezing. We also studied the temperature of different cities around the world with computer models. He said that the study found that the survival rate of the virus was up to 5 times higher in areas of humidity than in dry environment. In such a situation, the monsoon is coming soon in Mumbai and the level of Humidity is more than 80 percent. In such cases, corona infection cases may increase more rapidly during the monsoon.
Example of Singapore and New York
Rajneesh said that monsoon arrives early in Singapore. In such a situation, there have been some cases of corona later. Professor Rajneesh Bhardwaj said that the humidity was high in Singapore, so the temperature was also high, so it did not spread much here. New York took the most time to dry the Corona Draplet. This is why New York is one of the cities most affected by the Corona infection in the world. According to the report published in the Peer-Review Journal of the American Institute of Physics, droplets were quickly drying up in Sydney, Miami and Los Angeles.
Viruses die by drying up in hot weather
Rajneesh Bhardwaj said that since coughing and sneezing are prone to spread the infection, the virus can dry up and die instantly while doing so in hot weather. Amit Agarwal, the second professor involved in the research, said that in hot weather the droplets immediately evaporate and evaporate, hence the risk rate decreases. However, both Indian Council of Sciences and AIIMS have not yet agreed in favor of any such study.
