From Badminton, Satvik, Chirag and Sameer were named for the Arjuna Awards


Indian doubles pair Satwik Sairaj Ranireddy and Chirag Shetty, singles player Sameer Verma were nominated by the Badminton Association of India (BAI) for the Arjuna Awards. The world's tenth-ranked pair will give India high hopes at the Tokyo Olympics. Together, the two have achieved many successes for India in the past. Historical gold medals at Thailand Open, French Open and 2018 Commonwealth Games are some of the achievements that have made both shuttlers strong contenders for the Arjuna Award.

Sameer Verma is also strong
India's veteran Sameer Verma made it to the finals of the 2016 Hong Kong Open, but the last year was nothing special. He also reached his career-best ranking of 11 in 2018, winning three titles. The game led him to the semi-finals of the BWF World Tour Finals 2018. Certified coaches S. Muralitharan and Bhaskar Babu from Netaji Subhash National Sports Institute were nominated for the Dronacharya Award. Muralitharan has given credit to former players such as Vimal Kumar, Rupesh Kuma, Senav Thomas, and Bhaskar Babu to name players like Chetan Anand, Saina Nehwal, P Kashyap. Now he is preparing new players in Secunderabad. The names of Pradeep Gandhe and Manjusha Kanwar have been extended for the Dhyanchandra Award.
