MUMBAI: Wajid Khan, one of Bollywood's renowned music composer and singer is no more. He passed away on Monday, June 1 during the early hours. He was a part of the sibling composer duo Sajid-Wajid.
It was Sonu Nigam who confirmed the news on his social media. He posted a picture with the caption "My brother Wajid left us."
The cause of death has not been made certain, although many alleged sources and reports say that the singer was COVID-19 positive and lost his life to the virus. However, another source mentioned that Khan was suffering from a kidney problem since the past few days and was on the ventilator after getting admitted to a hospital recently.
The duo, Sajid-Wajid's recent work includes 'Pyaar Karona', which was sung by megastar Salman khan during the continued lockdown period.
The duo also composed the song 'Bhai-Bhai', which was regarding communal harmony between religions. This too was sung by Salman Khan and was released on the occasion of eid.
Their famous compositions from the industry include, "Do you wanna partner" and "Soni de nakhre" ("Partner"), "Hud hud Dabangg" ("Dabangg"), "Chinta ta chita" ("Rowdy Rathore"), "Tujhe Aksa Beach" ("God Tussi Great Ho") and "Jalwa" ("Wanted").
The duo had also composed non-film albums like Indian Idol fame Rahul Vaidya's 'Tera Intezaar', Sonu Nigam's 'Deewana' and 'Khoya Khoya Chand' by Alka Yagnik and Babul Supriyo.
