After their plane crash lands in the middle of a desert called Gobi desert, two Pilots (Dennis Quaid and Tyrese Gibson) and the rest of the surviving passengers includes Hugh Laurie attempt to rebuild another air craft with the help of the remains of the old one. There will be an extreme temperature in the desert and everyone want to escape the heat alive.
I have not seen the original old version of this movie named 1965.Flight of the Phoenix and also I did not have much expectations before watching this movie knowing that It was a remake of an old movie. Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson and Hugh Laurie are very good actors and I didn't get disappointed after watching their performance in this movie. We can also categorised this movie into a survival thriller movie like Caste Away.
But there was a small difference. Caste Away tells the survival story of an Island, and Flight of the Phoenix tells the survival story of a desert with a group of people.There are some clever twists and details that makes this movie unique and interesting. The only negative thing I felt is, every character in this movie are tired, if they are not getting enough food and water, but they are not seeing tired when there was a running scene or a fighting scene. My observation could be wrong though. Overall it's a good film that I could willingly watch some more time also.The only thing I need to tell you that we cannot compare the new movie with the old classic one. The old one is far better than this.
