Hina Khan (born 2 October 1987) is an Indian television and film actress. She is well known for playing Akshara in Star Plus's Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and portraying Komolika in Kasautii ZindagiI Kay. In 2017, she participated in the reality shows Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 and Bigg Boss 11 and emerged as the first runner up in both.
During her college studies in Delhi, Khan auditioned for Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai when her friends forced her and got selected for it. Then, she arrived to Mumbai and made her television debut in 2009, when she starred in one of the longest running Indian soap opera as Akshara Singhania. After eight years, she quit the show in November 2016 to pursue other projects. This series made her a successful actress for which she received good responses and also won many awards.

Being one of the few TV actors to break into the world of cinema, Hina spoke about her journey during a recent interview with Bombay Times. “It is difficult. Forget about work, television actors are not even considered when it comes to donning an outfit for a big designer. For me, things have changed because I went to Cannes (in 2019), and I am in touch with a lot of top designers. But usse pehle aisa nahin hota tha. Even to walk the red carpet there, I went through a struggle. Some feel TV actors utne professional nahin hote hain, but I don’t think they should be judged that way. If I had got big opportunities, even I would have done something magical by now, and would have been holding a Filmfare Award in my hand.”
Soon, the actress will be seen returning to television with the supernatural show ‘Naagin’.
Hina Khan is the new naagin of small screen.The actress will essay the title role of 'Naagin' in the upcoming season five of the popular tele-series. With the announcement, Hina becomes the latest actress to join the franchise that has seen the likes of Mouni Roy and Surbhi Jyoti playing shape shifting serpents.
