The first Bengali movie watched by me was this movie love aaj kal porshu on Amazon Prime. Love Aaj Kal Porshu is a Bengali romantic film directed by Pratim D. Gupta, and produced by Shrikant Mohta & Mahendra Soni. The film released on 14 February 2020 under the banner of SVF Entertainment.It stars Arjun Chakraborty, Madhumita Sarkar, Paoli Dam and Anindita Bose. The movie story is inspired from two Jim Carry starring Hollywood flicks, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and The Truman Show.While Valentine's Day dawns in Bengal in an avalanche of pink balloons, gift packages and narrow love, Tollywood is preparing to tell his own love story through the 'Love Aaj Kal Porshu' of Pratim D Gupta, which launches This Valentine's Day. It is a sublime story of two people where 'love' is seen as an instinct that can never change, no matter how much our environment changes. We ask Paoli Dam, one of the protagonists of this movie, how Pratim has explored the concept and contour of love or romance in his film today. The experienced actress says that it's not a typical romance .
The story is such not everything is within the hands of those two lovers. Nowadays, people who love to see love stories would enjoy since the concept is very different from a simple love story.
Despite faults in the narrative, I really enjoyed the performances of the leads, especially Paoli Dam. The chemistry of the lovebirds is refreshing, honest, and it doesn’t feel inorganic. The dialogues are engaging, and for the most part, the movie is truly enjoyable.
This movie is worthwhile watch for all audience I think. Two people whose love is a force that can never be changed, no matter how much its surroundings may change. A unique take on the timelessness of romance.
