Wheeler actually auditioned for the role of Monica Geller, but later got the role of Janice. Janice appeared in the series as having an on and off relationship with Chandler till he got in with Monica. She had an irritating voice and machine gun laugh. The friends were never able to bear with her mannerisms. Every time Chandler got up with her, they broke up with in days. And once in the series, she had a short term relationship with Ross Geller.
In the first season we can see Chandler suffering unable to explain her that he wants to break up with her. She becomes too whiny to handle, when ever she knows that they are breaking up. Multiple times they got in together under various circumstances.
In season 2, Chandler calls Janice because he didn't want to die alone to finds out that she is married and is pregnant. And later when he decides to date some mystery woman from internet, it agains turns out to be Janice who was planning to divorce. But later Joey finds her kissing her husband and Chandler had to break up with her.
Season 4 she agains comes to Chandler, but to avoid her he had to fake a work trip eventually ending up going to Yemen. Later believing he was still in Yemen she started dating Ross. But after few days, she broke up with him saying Ross was too whiny.
To the surprise of everyone in season 8, when Rachel was in the labor room to give birth to Emma, she was there in the same labor room. And in the finale season, again she appears out of nowhere to buy a house near Chandler and Monica's. But later she decided to back out fearing to fall in love with Chandler and ruining their lives.
