Novak Djokovic of Serbia, the world's number one tennis player, has apologized for his behavior after hitting the women's line judge during a pre-quarterfinal match at the last Grand Slam US Open tennis tournament of the year.
Djokovic made this mistake inadvertently but was ruled out of the tournament as per the rules. Djokovic faced Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain on the 27th Ranking, where he lost his serve in the first set, trailing Busta 5-6. According to the rules of the Grand Slam, if a player injures an officer or spectator, he is consequently disqualified along with a fine.
Djokovic apologized for the act. He posted on Instagram and said, "I am very saddened by this whole incident." I took the woman's movements on the tennis court and the tournament officials told me that the woman was in good condition. I apologize for this. ''
Djokovic said, "It was wrong but I will not reveal the identity of the judge because of his privacy." After I am disqualified, I need to work on it and I will take it as a lesson. This is the second time for Djokovic within three months when he has to publicly apologize. Djokovic conducted a four-stage Adrian Tour between Corona in which he and some other players became infected with Corona for which Djokovic was the only one responsible. The Adrian Tour had to be canceled after the second leg and Djokovic apologized for it.
