By default any WhatsApp user can add you to a group without your permission, but after this feature your permission will be required before adding the user to the WhatsApp group. If you want, you can also customize this feature to certain people. The new WhatsApp Group Invitation feature is available for both Android and iOS users.
How to customize WhatsApp Group Invitation feature
You will find this feature within the settings of WhatsApp. You can enable this feature in this way.
On Android:
-In Android device, first of all, you have to go to WhatsApp settings> Accounts> Privacy> Groups.
- There are three options to control groups invitations in privacy settings - Everyone, My Contacts and Nobody.
-If you choose the option of Nobody here, then no one will be able to directly add you to the WhatsApp group. You will first get a request to add to the group. If you accept that request, only then someone will be able to add you to the group.
On iPhone:
After opening WhatsApp, go to Settings. Then go to the account section and choose Privacy.
Now click on groups and here you also get the option of Everyone, My Contacts and Nobody. Here you can now decide who can add you in the WhatsApp group.
