Chutney is considered to be of great importance in Indian food and many types of chutneys are made throughout the country. You must have eaten coriander, mint, tomato sauce, but have you ever tasted brinjal chutney which is very popular in South India. Today we are going to tell you about its recipe. It is very easy to make, so let's know about the method of making it.
Necessary ingredients
- 5 small eggplants
- 1 pinch asafoetida
- 1 tbsp peanuts
- 4-5 buds garlic
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp ginger
- 2 green chilies
- 1 tsp tamarind
- 2 tsp oil
- 1 tsp Tomato
- 1/2 tsp salt
Recipe
First of all, wash the brinjal and cut it into small pieces.
After this, soak the sliced pieces in water so that they do not turn brown.
- After this, put a pan on the gas. Add oil to it. When the oil becomes hot, you have to add asafetida, curry leaves, cumin, ginger, garlic, green chilies, peanuts, and tamarind and cook on low flame.
When the masala is cooked, then add brinjal to it. Close the lid of the pan and cook it 3 to 5 minutes so that the eggplant becomes soft.
Now you have to cook it by adding tomatoes, salt, and when the tomatoes are cooked well, turn off the heat.
- Let it cool down. After this, grind it in a mixer and eat it with dal, rice, paratha, or dosa.
