We continue to present original tools designed to practice and learn English, and we do so now with a tool that uses texts and audios in other languages for the task.
These are spearheads, a tool that is based on three steps:
- Listen to paragraph
- Record yourself by reading paragraph
- Compare to the original recording
Doing this with an audiobook can be a huge task, as it is necessary to pause, not lose the listening point, jump back to hear the same paragraph again... after a while, it becomes tedious to track old recordings and track progress as you progress through the book.
This tool can do all the tasks for us.
It features a listening mode, which intelligently divides paragraphs, and "Dictation Mode". In this mode, you can practice listening comprehension and spelling.
In dictation mode, some parts of the words in the text would be hidden and we would have to complete them just by listening to the audio.
At the moment they have 9 books, in English, French, English, and Spanish. They have resources to keep the user motivated and set daily goals, as well as to monitor progress.
To choose a daily goal to stay motivated, you only have to define the number of recordings, reading seconds, or dictation words.
