Street Style Spicy Combination Tawa Pulao Recipe

 

Combination Tawa Pulao is a cross between the street side Tawa Pulao and our very own Indo-Chinese Triple Schezwan Rice, which is a combination of rice and noodles. The spicy flavors of rice and noodles work beautifully together.

  • Oil 1 tbsp + butter 1 tbsp
  • Jeera (cumin seeds) 1 tsp
  • Onions 2 medium size (sliced)
  • Kashmiri Red chili paste 1/4th cup
  • Garlic paste 2 tbsp

Veggies:

  • Capsicum ½ cup (juliennes)
  • Cabbage 1 cup (shredded)
  • Green peas 1/3rd
  • Tomatoes 2 medium size (juliennes)
  • Salt to taste

Powdered spices:

  • Turmeric powder ½ tsp
  • Red chili powder 1 tsp
  • Garam masala 1 tsp
  • Pav bhaji masala 3 tbsp
  • Water as required
  • Cooked rice 2 cups
  • Boiled noodles 1 cup
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
  • Fresh coriander leaves 1 tbsp (chopped)

Method:

1. Set a Tawa or wok on medium heat, add butter & oil and further add jeera and sliced onions, sauté until onions turn translucent.

credit:party image reference2. Next, add Kashmiri red chili paste and garlic paste, mix and sauté until oil separates, add water if required if the masala gets too dry while cooking, make sure the masala doesn’t stick and get burnt

3. Add the veggies, salt to taste, and powdered spices, mix well and add 250 ml or 1 cup of water, mix well and cook the masala for 3-4 mins.

credit:party image reference4. Add the cooked rice and the boiled noodles, mix well with the masala without breaking the rice grain and continue to cook for more 2-3 minutes.

5. Squeeze in some fresh lemon juice and add some freshly chopped coriander leaves.
