Actor Salman Khan will return as the host of the popular reality show Bigg Boss for the upcoming 14th season. Salman has hosted the show since season 4 of 2010. Over the years, the channel has also increased his salary to keep the actor on the show and for this, he charges a hefty amount.
The actor has said that this time he is cutting his salary so that the show can sustain itself after Corona lockdown. He said, "That's why I'm doing this season of Bigg Boss." As per Bollywood Hungama reports, the actor was paid Rs 2.5 crore per episode from seasons four to six of the show. Subsequently, he doubled his fees for Bigg Boss 7. to Rs 5 crore. For Bigg Boss 8, Salman was charged Rs 5.5 crore per episode and for Bigg Boss 9, he raised his fees to Rs 7-8 crore per episode. For season 10 of Bigg Boss, he took Rs 8 crore per episode.
When told that the actor would charge Rs 11 crore per episode for the show's 11th season, Salman called it a runoff. But it was also revealed that Salman's salary was not less than this amount.
If the reports of Salman's ever-increasing salary are true, it makes him one of the highest-paid actors in the world.
For Bigg Boss 13, Pinkvilla quoted a source as saying that Salman would be paid over Rs 200 crore for this season. He said, 'Last year he took Rs 11 crore per day. He said that both the special episodes are shot in a single weekend and in 2018 he earned Rs 165 crore from the entire season.
