This a very eye catching dessert. It's a very delicious and nutritious recipe as it is made of bottle gourd.
It is very easy to make and requires no special ingredients. You can make it with just regular ingredients which is found in your kitchen.
Ingredients:
- Full cream milk-1 ltr
- Lauki bottle gourd-2 Cups grated
- Sugar -1.5 cup or (as per taste)
- Milk powder -250 gm
- Desi Ghee - 2 tbsp
- Cardamom powder-2 tsp(as per taste)
- Mango for garnishing
Equipment -
- Heavy Bottom Kadhai / Pan
Steps to follow -
- Heat milk in a heavy bottom pan.
- Boil the lauki separately.
- When the milk comes to a boil and it
- looks little thicker add the milk powder. Stir well .
- Cook till all the milk has reduced and mixture has thickened.
- Keep little thick mixture aside in a bowl mix lil sugar and refrigerate it for some time.
- Add boiled lauki in pan in remaining mixture.
- The lauki will release some more water.
- Cook again till the mixture has thickened.
- you can add a pinch of edible color as per your choice -totally optional
- Add sugar.
- Add cardamom powder and mix well.
- Grease a small plate with ghee and pour the mixture in the plate.
- Spread the mixture evenly on the plate.
- Let the mixture set for a few hours in the fridge.
- Cut into small pieces/shapes
For serving-
- Keep the pieces in a plate
- Spread thick refrigerated mixture on the top
- Garnish it with small pieces of ripe mango ed and fresh mint leaves
