It was in March when the coronavirus crisis began to hit with greater force and when, in terms of Hollywood, it was possible to glimpse how this health emergency would affect the industry. With no time to die , as it was, it turned out to be the first major premiere to be postponed , being sent by Universal to November 2020 with serious losses in advertising, and a multitude of blockbusters have followed since then.
Many already gave up the cinematographic year and foreshadowed a very serious blow for cinemas, something that has only accentuated that this same film, after a series of rumors that had been anticipating it, is delayed again. According to the official James Bond account, No Time to Die Now will be released in the US on April 2, 2021 , announced by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli in collusion with Universal and MGM.
The planned as the last adventure of Daniel Craig in the role of 007 had a very bumpy production (where there were changes of director and a very serious injury on the part of the actor), and after being the first to suffer the ravages of COVID-19 it has luckily for many other premieres to be postponed for a whole year.
Given how chaotic the shoot was, it was reasonable to expect that director Cary Fukunaga and his team would take advantage of this delay to do some touch-ups from the editing room, but Fukunaga himself was quick to disprove it:
“Although having time would have been great, we had We have to stop working as soon as we finish post-production, once the COVID caused everything to stop (…) Although it is a large film, we have to monitor costs ” , he explained.
