BMW has launched the BS6 update of the G 310 R at an attractive price of Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom India), thus making it around Rs 50,000 cheaper than before. And the more awesome thing about the new bike is that it has all the systems, adjustable brake and clutch levers, ride-by-wire, slip-and-assist clutch and LED lights for the necessary BS6 updates. The company has given good news to customers. According to BMW, the bike will be available in India at EMI plans of Rs 4,500.

The G310R sports a 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit that produces 34PS at 9500rpm and a torque of 28Nm at 7500rpm. To ensure fuel efficient burning, BMW has rotated the head of the cylinder up to 180 degrees, creating a direct path for fuel and air mixing. This change in architecture has also given the bike a lower center of gravity for more confidence at the corners. The G310R suggests a scale of 158.5kg. BMW claims a top speed of 143 kmph and a combined fuel efficiency of 30kmpl for the G310R.

The bike gets 43mm inverted front forks and a tubular steel frame with rear monoshock damper. It gets 17-inch alloys wrapped in Michelin Pilot Street radial tires with 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear. Braking is via a single 300 mm front disc clamped with radial mounted calipers and a 240 mm rear disc. It gets dual-channel ABS as standard. The V-shaped headlight gives an aggressive stance to the upside down front with a golden finish. The profile is dominated by an oversized 11-liter fuel tank, tank extensions and massive exhaust. The seat looks long and wide for comfort. The seat height is 785 mm less.
