Ghimob virus hits more than 100 android applications

These days we frequently hear about viruses hitting various devices. Today we are going to talk about one such virus which has hit the Android platform and is used as a spyware which can steal your banking data without even your consent it as it is a Trojan virus that hides inside your system and runs under the wrapper of some other applications.

The name of this trojan is Ghimob and it is believed that it is made by the same group which made the Astaroth windows malware. This virus has not been spreading through the Google Play Store. This virus has been spreading through the the APKs which we download and install from third party untrusted softwares instead of Google Play Store.

Mostly this virus makes use of the names of trusted brands like Google and windows to get into your systems. It will show you that the app which you are going to download will be from a trusted source like Google or windows. But in the real scenario it is just a fake copy of those trusted apps and only a legit name is used to gain your trust.

I request all of you to download all the apps from the Google Play Store and even if your downloading any app from any third party software, please be careful and first verify the site for its authenticity and integrity. But I will recommend that you download any app from Google Play Store.

This virus has mostly been seen in in Brazil, Germany, Portugal and some other countries. For now it is not in India but you should be careful in downloading any app from third party softwares as it can result in some privacy issues. This virus is also targeting the cryptocurrency so it is better that we take necessary precautions before downloading any apps from untrusted sources or you can also download some anti virus softwares.
