Alice Brady (November 2, 1892 - October 28, 1939) was an American actress who appeared in more than 100 films during the Hollywood golden age. She was born in New York City, the daughter of William A. Brady, a successful stage producer and theatre owner. Brady began her career on the stage, performing in productions of her father's theater company.
In 1913, she made her film debut in a silent film version of "The Warrens of Virginia". Brady went on to have a successful career in Hollywood, appearing in films such as "Greed" (1924), "The Gay Divorcee" (1934), and "In Old Chicago" (1937). She received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "In Old Chicago".
Unfortunately, her career was cut short when she was diagnosed with cancer in 1939 and died later that year at the age of 46.
