Cherish Understanding Languages This "World Translation Day"
The World Translation Day observed on the 30th of September every year, marks a day for recognizing and paying tribute to all the people associated with works in language and it's development. A day to spotlight various fields or career in translation, interpretation and the language service industry.

The World Translation Day was first adopted on 24 May 2017 by the UN General Assembly which proclaimed the date 30 September for honoring the work of translators and interpreters in the betterment or international relations and the development of brotherhood across borders.
The date 30 September was specifically chosen to show respect to St. Jerome, the Bible translator. A man considered to be the patron saint of the translators. The celebrations are promoted by FIT (International Federation Of Translators) set up in 1953.

The power interpreters bring to the international field ranging from political view to the personal relationships between the two countries or parties is enormous. The harmony between states is also a result possible only with the help of interpreters and translators.
Along with tourism the need of migration is also fulfilled with ease due to good translation services.

The World Translation Day is celebrated for the very purpose of promoting better communication. It also encourages the young to participate and learn about cultures from different sources and encourages some to pursue a career in language.
