Chrome 79 to Start Blocking Unsecure Content on HTTPS Pages by Default

Most current websites are loaded with HTTPS, but some websites still offer mixed content. This means that some HTTPS sites load additional content, such as images, videos, and sound over the unsecured HTTP network. Google also wants to stop this practice and begin the transition to blocking mixed content with Chrome 79.

In Chrome 79, Google will block all mixed content of HTTPS sites by offering the ability to unlock the content of certain sites. To do this, go to Settings located in the lock symbol next to the HTTPS link in the address bar.
Google's blog says that mixed content should be blocked: "By default, browsers block many types of mixed content, such as: Scripts and iframes, however, images, audio and video files can still be loaded

Chrome 79 will be launched in December of this year. Google will block mixed audio and video with Chrome 80 for users starting next January.
