The revised MNP process will come into effect from December 16, under which UPC will be created only when the customer is eligible to port their mobile number. Apart from this, UPC can be made only with positive approval of different conditions in the new process. At the same time, after porting the number to the users under the new rule, it will have to remain active on the existing operator's network for at least 90 days. Apart from this, UPS will be valid for 4 days in the new process, while UPS will remain valid for 30 days in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam and Northeast circles.
