Delhi Fire: Blaze Causes Blast and Building Collapse at Peera Garhi Area, Several People, Fire Brigade Officials Feared Trapped
New Delhi, January 2: A massive fire broke out at a factory in Delhi early on Thursday morning. According to a tweet by ANI, the blaze broke out at Peera Garhi area. Reports inform that during rescue operations, a blast occurred after which a factory building collapsed. The blast was of high intensity, reports stated. Several people are still trapped. According to a tweet by ANI, several fire brigade personnel are also trapped still trapped. The rescue operation is currently underway.

In another similar incident on December 25, a major tragedy was averted after 40 people were rescued from a four-storey building in east Delhi following a massive blaze in Krishna Nagar. At least 40 persons were rescued by the Delhi Fire Service. Delhi Fire Services director Atul Garg was quoted in the report saying plastic waste materials were stored on the ground floor of the building while people lived on the upper floors and it had only a single staircase.
