Ingredients
- 1 tbsp oil
- 2 cardamon (elaichi)
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 inch ginger or adrak (chopped)
- 1 cup onions (chopped)
- 1½ cup tomatoes (chopped)
- 2 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 inch dalchini (optional)
- 1 small bay leaf (optional)
- ¾ to 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1/8 tsp turmeric or haldi
- ¾ to 1 tsp garam masala
- ½ to ¾ tsp coriander or dhania powder
- ½ to ¾ cup green peas or matar
- 1 to 1 ¼ cup water (as required)
- 250 grams paneer
- 1 tsp Kasuri methi
- ¼ tsp Salt (as required)
- 2 tbsp coriander leaves
Preparation
Heat a pan with 1 tbsp oil. When the oil turns hot, add ginger and garlic.
Add chopped onions. When raw smell of the onions has to go away. Then add chopped tomatoes, salt and turmeric. Cook on a medium flame until the onions and tomatoes turn brown.

After when the mixture turns brown. Now, transfer mixture to blender jar and Make a smooth blended mixture without adding water.

After that again heat the pan with 2 tbsps oil. Add cinnamon and a small bay leaf. Add the onion tomato mixture, chili powder, garam masala and coriander powder. Fry this mixture until its color turn brown.

You may need to boil peas then add in mixture. Pour 1 to 1 1/4 cup water.Mix well. Cover and cook until the gravy thickens.

Add paneer cubed and kasuri methi. Cook just for 2 to 3 mins.

Last step add chopped coriander leaves and you can also add cream. Mix very well.

Now, serve matar paneer in bowl.
