Remembering Dhyan Chand on his birth anniversary , National Sports day of India

India is celebrating National Sports day on 29th August , which is birth anniversary of famous Hockey player of India Dhyan Chand. First time in 2012 National Sports day was celebrated in India. Government of India has decided to celebrate National Sports day on 29th August.

• Dhyan Chand was born in 1905 , in Allahabad. He was famous hockey player in India, he won hatrick gold medals at Olympics in the years 1928 , 1932 and 1936.
• He had another name as " The Wizard " and " The Magician ". This nick names are tagged to him just because of his ultimate control over the ball and his movements in the ground.
• In 22 years of career he was scored almost 400 goals , he was played for country between 1926 and 1949. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan award in 1956.
