Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has appealed people to take necessary precautions to avoid coronavirus. He tweeted - Be strong and take precaution to deal with Kovid-19. Stay alert while remaining safe and remember that there is better prevention than cure.
The increasing cases of coronaviruses have also affected Indian cricket. The second match of the 3-match ODI series was to be played between India and South Africa in Lucknow on Sunday. For this, the Indian team also reached there. Team India was scheduled to practice at the stadium on Saturday. But on Friday evening itself, the BCCI canceled the match with Lucknow on 18 March in Kolkata. The BCCI had issued a statement on Friday and said - South Africa team will come to India to play 3 ODI series later. Soon both boards will release the changed schedule.
Earlier, the board postponed the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to 15 April. Initially, the tournament was to be held from 29 March, but due to the ban on visas for coronaviruses and foreigners, the BCCI decided not to hold it for now. Franchisees have also been informed about this.
