Why we should celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi ?!


We all know that Lord Ganesh is son of God Shiva and Goddess Parvati according to Hinduism. People are believed that if we can pray Lord Ganesh with full heart before starting a work then that work will be completed without any disturbance.

  • Goddess Parvati made a boy shaped statue with clay and she gave life to that statue in absence of her husband Lord Shiva.
  • After sometime Lord Shiva arrived to Parvati's place and Ganesh not allowed Shiva to meet Parvati. Lord Shiva gets angry and cutoff Ganesh 's head with his power.
  • Parvati has cried a lot and asked her husband that get her son back. Lord Shiva ordered his assistants to bring the head of alive creature who is sleeping by facing east.

  • Lord Shiva's assistants find an elephant which is sleeping by facing east and they cutoff the head of that elephant and gave it to Lord Shiva.
  • Lord Shiva attached that elephant's head to Ganesh with his powers and blessed Ganesh with some powers. And also gave a legacy to people who pray for Ganesh before starting their work shouldn't have any disturbances.
  • Tomorrow is Ganesh Chaturthi prepare all the food items which are liked by Ganesh and pray for him. May all your wishes come true , have a blessed year ahead.
