1.Balakot Air Strike

In the beginning of the year, 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a terrorist attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, after which the Indian Air Force gave a befitting reply to the terrorists within two weeks. According to the information, the Air Force went beyond the LoC and dropped 1000 kg bombs on the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist camps. The operation included 12 Mirage fighter planes of the Airforce. Let me tell you that this is the first time since 1971 when the Indian Air Force has crossed LOC and carried out an operation. Even during the Kargil War, the Air Force did not cross the LoC. The terrorist camp of terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed was completely destroyed in the operation of the Air Force. The same organization claimed responsibility for the Pulwama attack, in which 40 CRPF personnel were martyred.
2.Triple Talaq Bill

In the Constitution of India, triple talaq laws came into existence this year. The President approved the triple talaq bill on 1 August 2019. The Modi government had passed this bill in the Lok Sabha on 25 July and in the Rajya Sabha on 30 July. However, this law will be considered applicable from 19 September 2018. After the enactment of the bill, all the cases related to triple talaq after 19 September 2018 will be settled under this law. Let me tell you that 99 votes were cast in the Rajya Sabha, while 84 votes were cast in protest. While there were 187 votes in favor and 74 in the opposition for the introduction of triple talaq bill in Lok Sabha.
3.Article 370 removal
On August 5, the central government removed Article 370, stripping the special status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir by the President's order. The status of the special state that Jammu and Kashmir got also ended. At the same time, the government also announced to divide Jammu and Kashmir into two parts. Accordingly, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh became a union territory.
4.Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill-
The Motor Vehicle Amendment Bill contains very stringent provisions aimed at reducing road accidents. Provided stringent penalties for violation of rules such as driving by teen minors, driving without license, driving dangerously, driving drunk, driving faster than the prescribed limit and driving people over or exceeding the prescribed standards has gone. It also proposed a penalty for not giving way to emergency vehicles like ambulances. The penalty for dangerous driving will be increased from Rs 1000 to Rs 5,000. 10,000 will have to be paid as a fine for driving a drunk. For traffic violations, a fine of 500 rupees will be given instead of 100 rupees.
5.Merger of banks
The central government made a big announcement on August 30, announcing a merger of several banks. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had said that United Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Punjab National Bank (PNB, OBC and United Bank) will merge. On the other hand, Canara Bank and Syndicate Bank will also be merged together. Similarly, Union Bank, Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank will also be merged. Indian Bank and Allahabad Bank will also merge among themselves. With this big announcement by the central government, now the number of public sector banks in the country will come down to 12.
