5 Reasons why BJP made Adesh Gupta the state president of Delhi

Many people were surprised when the letter of the order of the order of the coronation of the order of Delhi State President was issued from the national headquarters of BJP's Deen Dayal Upadhyay Road on Tuesday. Compared to actor-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari, who was the president of Delhi BJP, people were seen gathering information about this face from unknown. The special thing is that most of the leaders outside Delhi's state unit and all the journalists covering the BJP beat also did not know much about Adesh Gupta. Everyone appeared to know about them from each other. Then it was revealed that this is the same order Gupta, who was the mayor of North MCD in 2018.
Neelkant Bakshi, who looks after the media department in BJP's Delhi unit, however, dismisses that people know little about Adesh Gupta. He said that Adesh Gupta has been identified as a grassroots leader in Delhi. He has been the Mayor of North MCD, this will benefit the party in the coming election. With Adesh Gupta becoming the state president, it has been proved again that the BJP is the only party where even ordinary workers can reach the top post of the organization on the strength of hard work. In the Congress and other parties, people of the same family move forward.
Sources said that two MPs and one MLA were strong contenders for becoming the state president in Delhi. In such a situation, why did the party bet on a former mayor, ignoring the MPs and MLAs involved in the race for the state president? IANS tried to understand this from party sources. During this time five major reasons emerged.
1-Do not fit into any group
The biggest challenge in BJP's path in Delhi is to get rid of the factionalism of its leaders. For years, the BJP has not been able to overcome the internal factionalism. Some MPs, MLAs and state organization leaders have formed their own factions. Manoj Tiwari was seen battling this factionalism throughout his tenure. The party also suffered its loss in the election. In such a situation, the party has played a bet on Adesh Gupta, who does not belong to any faction. Although, this time two MPs and one MLA from Delhi were in a strong race to become the state president of the party, but the party preferred Adesh Gupta on his claim. A party leader said that Adesh Gupta is not a member of any faction. He is humble, his ego does not come in the way of joining hands with any leader. He 'neither befriends Kahu nor walks on hated formulas with Kahu. The party has given him the command with the hope of getting rid of factionalism. Now he will tell how successful he will be.
2-Vysya strategy for votes
BJP sources say that about 25 percent of the tradesman's vote in Delhi. For the BJP, this caste is considered a core voter, but since the influence of Arvind Kejriwal in the politics of Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has managed to make a dent in the Baniya votes. Kejriwal himself also belongs to the Vaishya class. In 2018, Kejriwal handed over two out of three Rajya Sabha seats to Sushil Gupta and ND Gupta in 2018 to cater to the considerable number of Baniya voters in Delhi. BJP sources say that by making Adesh Gupta the state president, the BJP is again preparing to take core voters. Vaishya voters have influence in nearly two dozen assembly seats in New Delhi, including Chandni Chowk, Chawdi Bazaar, Karol Bagh, Trinagar.
3- Mission 2022: MCD election experience
Municipal elections are due in Delhi in April 2022. The upcoming Delhi Municipal Corporation is also being considered as the reason behind making Adesh Gupta the state president. Adesh Gupta has been the mayor of North MCD for one year. He is also a councilor from West Patel Nagar. The BJP's corporation elections have always been a stumbling block. In the 2017 elections, the party led by Manoj Tiwari hoisted the victory mark in all three municipal corporations. Now the challenge is to sustain this success. Since Adesh Gupta is aware of the tricks and tricks of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi, it will be easy for the party to strategize. Adesh Gupta has also been a member of the NDMC Standing Committee.

4-organization old players
Aditya Gupta does not appear weak even if loyalty to ideology and organization is seen. He has long experience of working in the organization. He has worked in the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in the 90s. He has worked in the ABVP along with JP Nadda, the current national president of the party. He has also been the National Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. After coming to NCR from UP, he has been associated with BJP politics in Delhi for the last two decades. Party sources say that the top leadership chose him for the post of state president despite his organizational capacity.
5- UP connection
Adesh Gupta's UP connection is also believed to be a reason behind becoming the state president of Delhi. People of Uttar Pradesh live in large numbers in Delhi. Aadesh Gupta can succeed in exerting influence on such voters. Adesh Gupta is also a native of Uttar Pradesh. He hails from Kannauj district of Uttar Pradesh. He became the state minister of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in UP in the year 1994-95. Arrived in Delhi to contract in 1997 and settled here since then.
