Ingredients for the recipe (20 Servings)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 4 egg
  • 2 teaspoon coffee powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
For Frosting
  • 2 cup icing sugar
  • 50 gm chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 3 tablespoon coffee powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
How to make Coffee Walnut Cake
Step 1 Fine chop the walnuts
  • To prepare this delicious cake recipe, finely chop the walnuts and keep aside.
Step 2 Sieve flour with baking soda and powder
  • In a large bowl, sieve together all-purpose flour, baking powder and baking soda. Mix well and keep aside.
Step 3 Make coffee paste
  • Next, take a small bowl and add two teaspoons of coffee powder in it. Pour a little warm water and dissolve coffee powder in it.
Step 4 Cream together egg, sugar and butter
  • Take another bowl and beat the eggs in it until they are fluffy. Add sugar in the bowl and mix well until it's creamy. Now, add butter in the bowl and beat once again till the mixture is light and fluffy.
Step 5 Prepare the cake batter and keep aside for 10 minutes
  • Then, gradually add the flour mix and ensure that no lumps are remaining. Next, add cinnamon powder in the batter and mix once again. Keep aside for 10 minutes.
Step 6 Make the frosting for cake
  • Meanwhile, prepare the frosting by beating together sugar and unsalted butter till stiff peaks are formed. Keep this in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes to set the frosting.
Step 7 Mix coffee paste with butter-sugar mixture
  • Mix fresh cream along with coffee paste and add to the butter and sugar mixture. Now, prepare the cake mold by smearing it with a little oil and dusting with a little flour.
Step 8 Bake the cake
  • Put the cake batter in this cake mold and bake in a preheated oven (180 degrees for 10 minutes) for 35 minutes at 200 degree Celsius or till the skewers come out clean.
Step 9 Cool the cake and add frosting over it
  • Once the cake is done, allow it to cool on a wire rack. Now, cut the cake into the half and spread the frosting on this part and put the other layer on top of it to make a sandwich. Now, spread the frosting on top of the walnut cake and sprinkle the chopped walnuts on it. Serve immediately with a cup of hot tea or coffee.
