What are ghost guns?
These guns look like toy guns at first after purchase they can be made fully functional by the user by tossing them and by adding other smaller parts that are readily available in the legal market. Due to the features of this weapon it can be developed legally without fear of the law. The buyer can make it fully functional easily.
How easy is it?
Gun control advocates say the change makes it easier to sell millions of rifles and parts that are easy to assemble, even for someone without a firearm, as long as they find out how to use a firearm, and other tools and follow the instructional videos found on YouTube.
Why are ghost guns so dangerous?
Ghost guns in the hands of criminals are a growing problem of law enforcement. For example, in California, 30 percent of firearms found in a law enforcement in an investigation had ghost guns.
In addition to street criminals, experts say domestic abusers, terrorists and extremist groups can take advantage of the hijacking, people who can enter the store and pass a check or people who want to carry a gun and not the government knows about it.
Where is it for sale?
It's easy to find both the individual parts of the gun and the complete equipment for sale online that provide all that is needed for collecting a gun.
Efforts of government :
The recently introduced legislation in the Senate would do that, by requiring that all frames and finders, even incomplete ones, be labeled consecutively, and to make DIY firearms brokers available to license dealers to purchase them, so that they would have to undergo the same background checks as purchasers of assembled weapons.
The mayor announced new law that bans the import of kits and parts used to make untraceable ghost guns. The efforts by the government are great, but we cannot say how effective it would be.
