The expedition of both countries will be led by the Indian Space Research Organization. According to Japan's Space Agency, the lunar mission will be launched after the year 2023.

According to reports, India and Japan held talks for the first time in 2017 regarding the lunar mission. It is being told that this mission will be fully robotic.
