Earlier this palace was made of wood
It looks like a palace in its present form, it was not in its original form. Actually, earlier this palace was made entirely of wood. The palace is believed to have been set ablaze during the marriage of Princess Jayalakshmi in 1897. It is believed that Darasa festival was being celebrated in Mysore at that time.
The palace was completed in 15 years
The structure of Mysore Palace seen today is the fourth version. This palace took a long time of 15 years to get ready. It was completed in 1912 after the commencement of construction works in 1887. This palace was not built by any Indian craftsman, but by the British architect Henry Irwin.

12 temples are built inside the palace
Some 12 temples are built in it and one temple is more than 14th century old. Prominent among them are Kodi Bharravaswamy Temple, White Varahaswamy Temple and Trinayaswara Swamy Temple. These temples also attract itself.
