Does the Lion know that he is the king of the jungle? Who crowned him as the king? We human beings crowned the Lion as the king. But the question why not Tiger or other animals? Although the Tiger is biggest animal among the cat family, it is not considered as king of the jungle.
But the question is… why? Is there anything special in lion?
Only the strength doesn’t matter here, because tiger is heavier, stronger, muscular, quicker, flexible and smarter than lion. It can also climb trees, swims for hours and walks miles distance.
But lion possess some qualities that distinguish from tiger. They are
Ruler and Protector:-
A lion has its own territory; it is not given to him. It decides its own territory and protects it. Lion protects its species in his territory where lioness are ready to fight for their king. Its main enemy is Hyena and fights with it for food and power. Lions expands their territory occupies area for generations.
Whereas tiger is a solitary animal and it has no one to protect.
Fearless:-
Lion is the lazy animal but its attitude makes him fearless animal. Lion dictate other wild animals and can eat their prey even though they are the ones who hunt. Even the lion roar can cause fear among the animals.
Commander and Strategist:-
Lion commands lioness when there is need for food. It is the decision maker and controls the cubs and lioness in its territory. They follow a strategy while hunting. Lions hunt in groups, one group chases the prey while the other group kills the prey.
On the other hand tiger goes alone for hunt. It has no one to command.
Powerful Appearance:-
Power is one of the qualities that a king should possess. Lion is the strongest animal on filed and its appearance makes it powerful. Hair around its neck makes him look royal, majestic and attractive.
Because of these abilities lion is considered as king of the jungle.
