My Detailed Review Of The Movie
A gang of friends on Halloween night, decided to go to a haunted house for fun. They slowly realizes that the horrors in that haunted house are becoming reality. As soon as I go through the one line of this movie,I got impressed and decided to watch somehow.I didn’t watch any trailers or anything about it. This film is directed by the two writers (Scott Beck & Brian Woods), an excellent film full of suspense moments and tension building scenes. They successfully carried that tension throughout this film as well. Right when the group goes to the haunted house, you’re wondering what’s going to happen next and what tricks are going to be pulled.
They really played with the suspense of the haunted house really well, and kept the audience wondering what’s going to happen. When the horror elements come into play, they really bring it and they don’t hold back. This film is a smaller film, they really made it feel very closed in and like it is hard to escape from here. I believe this is the strongest plus about this movie. They don’t go over the top or too big, it’s a great Halloween horror film, without trying to be the next big thing. All the actors play their part right. They weren’t annoying or written poorly, which was fresh to me. There’s really no one you want killed, like typical horror movies of this kind and I applaud the script for that.
The last 15 minutes felt really rushed and like they couldn’t think of a proper ending. The actual ending comes out of nowhere and you’re wondering what happen between this time. Some decisions in the characters make are stupid, but that’s common with a lot of horror movies. If we didn’t have these stupid decisions then we wouldn’t have half of the movie. It’s just one of those things you have to suspend your belief for the sake of the film. The movie still strides with its characters and the traps/scares the film makes.Haunt is a horror film that I can see definitely for on time. There is nothing special in this movie. It does it job and tells the story while delivering scares. There are some nice practical horror effects which is always a plus for me.
My rating for this movie 6.5/10
