Taarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma is an Indian comedy television show. It is one of the India’s longest running comedy serial till date and is shown in the channel called Sony Sab or Sab TV. The show produced by Neela Tele Films went on air from 28th July 2008. The recent lockdown across the country has had a major impact on the shooting of all television shows and films. Thus like other shows this show also got stopped temporarily.
However according to the latest update, the shooting of the show has once again resumed from 13th July 2020 after a gap of about five months. The latest episodes of the show are expected to be telecasted from 22nd July onwards. The show Taarak Mehta ka Ulta Chasma has been created by Asit Kumar Modi and is special as it highlights the Indian culture of staying united in a society or in a family. Another feature of the show is its ability to highlight the respect that we have for our parents and elders. The show also has a hilarious touch in each and every episode.
Jethalal, an obedient hard working family man is one of the main characters of the show. He is a businessman who owns an electronic shop and lives with his father, wife and son in Gokuldham society. He makes each and every attempt to make his family happy. However he is often troubled by the actions of Sundar, his brother in law. Bagha and Nattu Kaka, his co-workers also have an important role in making the show lovable and worth watching. Daya, wife of Jethalal is an Indian housewife who happily fulfills all her responsibilities towards the family. Her silly mistakes and way of talking gives a touch of comedy to the show. Champaklal, Jethalal’s father is a respected member of the Gokuldham society who tries to solve each and every problem with his experience. Atmaram Bhide, the secretary of the society is a simple middle class hard working man who lives with his wife Madhavi and daughter Sonu. Madhavi who is engaged in the business of pickles and papad is also a hardworking lady who along with her husband is very proud of their daughter Sonu.
Roshan Singh Sodhi , who is an all time jolly man, lives with his wife Roshan and son Gogi. He owns a garage named Sodhi Garage and his all time happy mood makes the audience feel good and peaceful.
Iyyer, a successful scientist lives with his wife Babita who is a modern as well as fashionable lady. They share a beautiful romantic bond in their married life which is appreciated by the members of the society. However Jethalal has a crush over Babita and this makes Iyyer jealous of Jethalal. This rivalry between Jethalal and Iyyer makes their scenes extremely hilarious.
Popatlal is a famous and an experienced bachelor journalist who wishes to get married in every possible way, however, all his attempts end in failure. Taarak Mehta is a writer and lives with his wife Anjali, who constantly takes care of his diet by making diet food for herself and her husband. The society is also home to Dr. Haathi, a physician and a food lover who lives with his wife Komal Haathi and their son Goli, also a food lover. Tapu Sena is another attraction of the society. The group includes all the child artists of the society, the leader being Tapu, son of Jethlal and Daya. Lastly, there is Abdul who is the owner of a store, that is located just at the entrance of the society.
The society is together called mini India and the characters make the show a big hit. Together they make the audience happy and this is the secret for the grand success of the show.
